Rakesh (Dev A ) & Pushpa( Nutan )  are childhood friends - they were always meant for each other . He loves to make music but his father is a rich contractor (KN Singh )  who doesn’t understand the soulfulness of music . 

Pushpa encourages Rajesh  to follow his passion – alas , it takes Rakesh away to Bombay and they are separated. 

An eligible Colonel ( K Dhawan) is waiting in the wings to marry her. 

This song is before the clouds descend- Rakesh and Pushpa spend an evening in the club - the Colonel appears and Rakesh downs a few drinks. 

He’s jealous, unemployed, his piano has been thrown out of the house by his father and the last straw is the Colonel’s appearance. 

They catch a few moments together before leaving the club - Rajesh promises not to drink  if she’s beside him - there’s pure tender love as she draws close.
